For one evening only, The Pavilion Members Club presents a rare private viewing of six iconic works from the William John Kennedy collection, photographed in New York during the 1960s. At the centre of the evening is Andy Warhol Holding the Marilyn Acetate II, the only known photographic record of the acetate used by Warhol to create the most iconic Marilyn Monroe prints in modern art history. Originally exhibited at Sidney Janis Gallery, New York, in 1967, the photograph captures a pivotal moment in the evolution of Pop Art. Following this presentation, the work will travel directly to the National Portrait Gallery as part of the forthcoming exhibition celebrating Marilyn Monroe’s centenary, offering members a rare opportunity to encounter the image in an intimate setting before it enters one of the world’s most prestigious institutional exhibitions. In keeping with The Pavilion’s spirit of discretion and cultural dialogue, this one-night presentation invites members to experience works seldom seen outside their private context. A fleeting encounter. A historic transition. A singular evening.
